Community Engagement Officer


The Community Engagement Officer will work with the Campaigning team to promote and champion BME campaigning within the organisation, and assist in the development of a community engagement strategy. They will work with the Events team with a focus on BME events and co-ordinate the activity of the Conservative Friends groups in a campaigning context.


The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Co-ordinating the Party’s activity with all Affiliated Groups
  • Assist with the development of the Party’s campaign strategy for Community Engagement
  • Act as Secretary to the Community Engagement Forum
  • Co-ordinating tours and event opportunities
  • Project manage any Community Engagement initiatives
  • Providing any necessary support as required by the team

Skills Required:

  • An understanding of BME, diversity and faith community issues
  • Excellent political judgment
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills including good attention to detail
  • A hands-on approach to work and the ability to work as part of a team with a “can do” flexible professional approach
  • Excellent IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • An excellent telephone manner
  • A commitment to the Conservative Party
