Position:
Assistant to the Agent
Summary
Kensington, Chelsea & Fulham Conservatives are looking to recruit Assistant to the Agent. The successful candidate will be computer literate with a good knowledge of Word and Excel with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
Main tasks would revolve around the smooth running of membership services including the updating of membership records and ensuring that the Association and its branches are compliant with the Political Parties Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA) and the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 (PPEA) as well as helping to administer an electoral database of over 150,000 voters.

Main areas of responsibility:

Ensure the effective and efficient running of the Conservative Party’s Elector Relationship Management system, MERLIN.

Maintain and process all records on the MERLIN database, initiating renewals and reminders and ensuring records are accurate, consistent and up to date.

Deal with postal and telephone enquiries from members and the general public.

Prepare monthly lists of new members and other reports as required.

Prepare and maintain financial data for generating income reports.

Print out audit trails and reconcile membership/donor income.

Accounting for event income using Excel and Quickbooks software.

Providing campaign support during elections including inputting canvass returns.

Providing secretarial support for the Association Agent and Officers.
Other areas of responsibility:

Promotion of Kensington, Chelsea & Fulham Conservative Association. To work at all times to further the aims of the Conservative Party. To encourage membership and donations and to assist in and promote related events and campaigns where appropriate.

To undertake other duties as from time to time requested by the Agent.
The following experience, skills and aptitudes are those that we are looking for in candidates for the post of Assistant. Those listed as Essential are those that the candidates must have. Candidates that fail to meet these will not be short-listed.
Desirable skills and experience are those, which it would be advantageous to have, although it is not essential.

· Experience of working with and supporting volunteers. |

· Knowledge of QuickBooks |
| · A keen eye for detail, accurate and numerate. |
· Knowledge of the Data Protection Act, PPERA and PPEA. |
| · Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office experience. |
| · Previous experience in dealing with enquiries. Helpful manner, tact and diplomacy. |
| · Ability to maintain a high level of self-motivation |
Salary: £24,000/£25,000 per annum
Working Hours: 9.am - 5.pm Monday to Friday (includes 1 hour break for lunch). Some evening and occasional weekend work may be necessary.
