Position:

Administrative Assistant

Summary

Mole Valley are looking for an administrative assistant to help out in campaigning, membership, events and general running of the office including co-ordination with our MP’s office at Portcullis House. We are offering a full time short term contract of approximately three months initially.

Description:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the communication to members and collection of their subscriptions via Merlin
  • Managing the electoral register, inputting of canvassing information, information on pledges
  • Assisting in campaigning
  • Assisting in event organisation and membership
  • Document production in conjunction with volunteers for campaigns and events (e lection / campaigning material, event material, membership information)
  • Accounting entries into the appropriate system to enable others to produce the accounts
  • Assistance on membership and payment management
  • Clerical duties including a nswering the phone, d ealing with general correspondence and a ssisting with the management of the website

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Computer literate – able to manage the website, produce communication pieces, inputting into Merlin / accounting systems etc
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Flexibility and broad skills to be able to assist in other office duties, eg election campaigns

Personal Qualities
The successful candidate is likely to be well organised and personable who sees this position as an opportunity to really make improvements. They need to be confident in dealing with senior people from other walks of life as well as having the management skills to organise themselves and volunteers.

Location
Mole Valley Parliamentary constituency, with flexibility to travel within this area as required.

Salary
Approx. £16,000 per annum pro rata (less for a part time role).

Hours 
Flexible including some mobile working across 9am – 5pm five days per week with ability to attend events in the evenings or weekends on occasion.
